The Witch’s Cat Goes Dutch!

Diving into a children’s book project is always a joy, and I’m thrilled to share the latest! After my recent collaboration with Marie Anna Laubert (which you can read about here), two(!) new books are coming out, this time with the incredible author Kirstie Watson. This time, I split duties: proofreading the first book and translating the second.

The books are called ‘De Kat van de Heks en de Kookcatastrofe’ (The Witch’s Cat and the Cooking Catastrophe) and ‘De Kat van de Heks en de Bezemblunder’ (The Witch’s Cat and the Broomstick Blunder), the latter of which I did the translation for. Both feature beautiful illustrations by Magdalena Sawko, including the cover art.

The Witch’s Cat is a character you can’t help but adore—good-hearted, enthusiastic, and constantly stumbling into mischief. Making sure that Cat springs off the page in Dutch the same way he does in English was an absolute delight and a very pleasurable challenge.

If you would like to join Cat on his adventures, I have good news! Today (12th of December 2024) and tomorrow, the e-books are available for free on Amazon. You can find the Cooking Catastrophe here and the Broomstick Blunder here. If you prefer a physical (paperback) copy, those are also available for purchase. Kirstie and I would love it if you were to give it a try and let us know your thoughts in a review!

Have a good week, everyone!
